Follow these steps to safely install the D25 500GB hard disk into your CCTV DVR or NVR unit.

   Power off the DVR/NVR completely — switch off the unit and disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket. Never install a hard disk with the device powered on.

   Open the DVR/NVR casing — unscrew the top or side panel using a Phillips screwdriver. Place the screws safely aside.

   Locate the hard disk bay — find the SATA connector slots and hard disk mounting tray or bracket inside the unit.

   Mount the hard disk — place the D25 500GB drive into the tray with screw holes aligned, then secure it firmly with the mounting screws.

   Connect the SATA data cable — plug one end into the hard disk SATA data port and the other end into the SATA port on the DVR/NVR mainboard.

   Connect the SATA power cable — attach the SATA power connector from the DVR/NVR power supply to the power port on the hard disk.

   Close the casing — reattach the panel and tighten all screws securely.

   Power on the DVR/NVR — the unit will detect the new hard disk automatically on startup.

   Format via DVR/NVR menu — go to Storage Settings → HDD Management → Format. This step is mandatory before recording begins. Formatting erases all existing data on the drive.

    Recording begins automatically — once formatted, the DVR/NVR will start recording as per your configured schedule and settings.

Install the D25 500GB hard disk as primary or secondary storage in your desktop PC following these steps.

   Shut down the computer and disconnect from power — fully power off and unplug the power cable from the back of the PC case.

   Open the PC cabinet — remove the side panel by unscrewing the thumb screws or panel screws at the rear of the case.

   Find an available 3.5 inch drive bay — locate an empty drive bay inside the cabinet. Most mid-tower and full-tower cases have 2–4 available 3.5 inch bays.

   Slide in and secure the hard disk — insert the D25 drive into the bay with the SATA ports facing inward. Secure it with screws on both sides of the drive.

   Connect the SATA data cable — plug one end into the hard disk and connect the other end to an available SATA port on the motherboard.

   Connect the SATA power cable — attach a SATA power connector from the PSU (power supply unit) to the power port on the hard disk.

   Close the cabinet and reconnect power — reattach the side panel, plug in the power cable, and switch on the computer.

   Initialise in Windows Disk Management — right-click the Start button → select Disk Management. The new drive will appear as unallocated. Right-click → Initialise Disk → choose MBR or GPT → create a New Simple Volume and format as NTFS.

   Assign a drive letter — during volume creation, assign a letter (e.g. D: or E:). The drive is now ready to use as additional storage in Windows.
