Follow these steps to safely install the D25 2TB hard disk in your CCTV DVR or NVR unit.

   Power off the DVR/NVR completely — switch off the unit and disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket. Never install a hard disk with the device powered on.

   Open the DVR/NVR casing — unscrew the top or side panel using a Phillips screwdriver and keep the screws safely aside.

   Locate the hard disk bay — find the SATA connector slots and HDD mounting tray or bracket inside the unit.

   Mount the hard disk — place the D25 2TB drive into the tray with screw holes aligned and secure it firmly with the mounting screws.

   Connect the SATA data cable — plug one end into the hard disk SATA data port and the other into the SATA port on the DVR/NVR mainboard.

   Connect the SATA power cable — attach the SATA power connector from the DVR/NVR power supply to the power port on the hard disk.

   Close the casing — reattach the panel and tighten all screws securely.

   Power on the DVR/NVR — the unit will automatically detect the new hard disk on startup.

   Format from the DVR/NVR menu — navigate to Storage Settings → HDD Management → Format. This is mandatory before recording begins. Formatting will erase all existing data on the drive.

    Recording starts automatically — once formatting is complete, the DVR/NVR begins recording as per your configured schedule and settings.

The D25 2TB hard disk can also be installed as secondary storage in a desktop PC using these steps.

   Shut down the computer and disconnect power — fully power off and unplug the power cable from the PC case.

   Open the PC cabinet — remove the side panel by unscrewing the rear thumb screws or panel screws.

   Find an available 3.5 inch drive bay — locate an empty drive bay inside the cabinet suitable for a 3.5 inch SATA hard disk.

   Slide in and secure the hard disk — insert the D25 drive into the bay with SATA ports facing inward and secure with screws on both sides.

   Connect the SATA data cable — plug one end into the hard disk and the other end into an available SATA port on the motherboard.

   Connect the SATA power cable — attach a SATA power connector from the PSU to the power port on the hard disk.

   Close the cabinet and reconnect power — reattach the side panel, plug in the power cable, and power on the computer.

   Initialise in Windows Disk Management — right-click Start → select Disk Management. The drive appears as unallocated. Right-click → Initialise Disk → choose MBR or GPT → create a New Simple Volume and format as NTFS.

   Assign a drive letter — assign a letter (e.g. D: or E:) during volume creation. The drive is now ready to use as additional storage.

• This is an internal hard disk — requires installation inside a DVR, NVR, or desktop computer.
• Not an external portable USB hard disk — no USB connectivity.
• Always format from the DVR/NVR menu before first use in a surveillance system.
• Actual usable storage is slightly less than 2TB due to formatting overhead.
